  1. 14.09.2023 - For high electrical requirements: The transformers from BLOCK

    Transformers are mainly used to adjust the voltage level. With their use, new network forms can also be formed. Downstream systems can thus always be designed for the same network form and voltage, no matter where they are put into operation in the world. For a simple and efficient voltage adjustment, only an autotransformer is required, which is considerably smaller than transformers of the same power.

    With the wide standard portfolio of BLOCK power, control, safety, isolating or autotransformers, we offer you the right choice for the design of your system. Difficult installation conditions or high electrical requirements extend the range of applications for BLOCK transformers. Thanks to coordinated components and 80 years of experience, BLOCK offers a comprehensive solution for all areas of industry. Naturally certified and in accordance with the relevant standards.

    Mains transformers with galvanic isolation can be used, for example, to supply FELV circuits with permissible low contact voltage. According to EN61558, power transformers provide at least basic isolation between the primary and secondary sides. They are therefore ideally suited for generating new independent networks.

    With the FL series, BLOCK offers power transformers with low overall height and rated output voltages from 2x 5 to 2x 24 Vac. The units can be operated on both the primary and secondary side in series or parallel connection. The common approvals as well as self-extinguishing potting material offer the necessary degree of safety for your devices.

    For high ambient temperatures of up to 70°C the short-circuit-proof power transformers from the VB series are particularly suitable. Permanent corrosion protection, high insulation values and the highest electrical reliability are offered by these transformers for PCB mounting, not least due to the XtraDenseFill cast resin full encapsulation.

  2. 29.01.2021 - Not only a plus for the nature: New impregnation material at BLOCK transformers

    BLOCK has been a strong partner of industry and trade worldwide for decades when it comes to the perfect voltage for systems and equipment. At the latest since the introduction of the blue PCB transformers, the entire electronics industry has appreciated the reliability and supply security of this brand.

    The responsible, careful use of chemicals in the manufacturing processes with regard to environmental compatibility and the exposure of its employees has always characterized BLOCK's actions.
    In order to further improve these measures, a new impregnation material was successfully qualified after extensive testing. The conversion phase has already been initiated.
     
    In addition to the ecological progress, there are also technological advantages for the products. Such as improved heat dissipation and noise reduction. The changeover will result in a slightly darker coloration of the products, but this has no effect on product quality.

    The harmless use of the new impregnation material was also confirmed by external testing bodies in the course of the approval adjustments (VDE, UL).
